About the position

The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in a growing Fintech organization focused on enhancing philanthropic giving through technology. This position involves designing and implementing Azure cloud infrastructure, leveraging DevOps methodologies to ensure the delivery of secure and high-quality software. The engineer will support various teams in optimizing digital services and will be responsible for maintaining system security and performance.

Responsibilities

• Supports and troubleshoots scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring back-up and restores of different environments.
• Designs and builds tools as well as frameworks that support deploying and managing of our platforms.
• Implement and maintain data security and privacy policies to ensure data is always protected.
• Suggest architecture improvements, process improvements, and automation.
• Evaluate new technology options and vendor products.
• Ensure critical system security through the use of best-in-class cloud security solutions.
• System troubleshoot and problem solve across platforms and application domains.
• Create, maintain, and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and DevOps practices and make recommendations for improvements to our existing systems.
• Collaborate with other architects, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that cloud deliverables are aligned with the overall IT strategy and roadmap.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams on DevOps related issues, including software builds, deployment pipelines, application performance, and code quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering and/or Cloud engineering.
• Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night or weekend times, and to participate in off-hours on-call schedule.
• Expert knowledge of deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) like Terraform.
• Significant experience designing and delivering infrastructure services.
• Expert skills with PowerShell scripting and reading/analyzing web technologies such as JSON, HTML, JavaScript, YML, jQuery, etc.
• Experience with an OOP language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, etc.
• Source control (GitHub) and modern feature branching strategies.
• CI/CD tools (Octopus, Nexus, GitHub, BuddyCI, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of Azure including virtual networking, non-consumption PAAS and IAAS.
