The State Street Cyber Architecture & Engineering team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their ranks. This role is pivotal in delivering architectural solutions, platforms, pipelines, and security tooling to secure State Street's digital footprint. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in secure configuration management practices and system hardening standards, along with experience in development using one or more scripting languages. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to learning and growth in technical solutioning, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting agile solutions and processes that are utilized by a wide array of applications and infrastructure platforms within our environments. In this position, you will be tasked with creating and managing automation pipelines and toolsets for Secure Configuration management. This includes developing or maintaining custom drift detection solutions for the configuration management program, as well as creating custom solutions using technologies such as Chef Inspec and shell scripting for hardening and monitoring non-standard systems. You will also support AWS-based infrastructure or SaaS solutions that drive the configuration management program, evaluate new technologies and vendor products, and execute Proof of Concept activities to validate proposed solutions. Your responsibilities will extend to delivering tasks based on project objectives, ensuring that deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are of high quality, well-documented, and support the transition of operational activities. Additionally, you will conduct risk assessments based on the NIST framework for critical assets and develop security guidelines, policies, and procedures related to the Secure Configuration framework. Collaboration with other engineers will be essential as you promote software and platform configuration best practices across the organization, designing solutions that prioritize monitoring, auditing, reliability, and security. You will work closely with stakeholders and teaming partners throughout the systems implementation lifecycle to understand enterprise requirements and develop holistic technical solutions that are both unique and optimally positioned.
