About the position

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Infrastructure Automation team. This position is pivotal in expanding our automation and development platform across our manufacturing teams, ensuring that our infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable. Your work will directly contribute to our goal of building the next great commercial launch company with our Terran R rocket, which is designed to meet the growing demand for launch capacity while minimizing costs through an iterative approach to design, testing, and development. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a platform that enables seamless software deployments and maintenance. You will champion best practices and tools throughout the company, working closely with development teams to support automation and unlock greater efficiency. Your mission will include supporting infrastructural growth across multiple sites, ensuring continued uptime of our services, and developing roadmaps for automated software deployments. You will also define and instrument Service-Level Objectives and leverage Configuration Management to maintain consistency across services, utilizing infrastructure-as-code methodologies. Responsibilities

  • Support infrastructural growth across multiple sites (Cloud and On-Premises)
  • Ensure continued uptime on our services, processes, and infrastructure throughout the company and across all of our sites
  • Develop roadmaps for automated software deployments across the company
  • Champion automation to reduce toil and increase development velocity
  • Define and instrument Service-Level Objectives
  • Leverage Configuration Management to build and maintain consistency across services
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code methodologies across configuration, orchestration, and other areas

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, Automation, or DevOps role
  • Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Proficient in cloud services and architectures, preferably AWS
  • Knowledge of deployment and infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Helm and Terraform

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced proficiency with Kubernetes
  • Experience with deployments across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Familiarity with GitLab
  • Heavy experience with production monitoring and observability best practices and tools, including log aggregation/analysis (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
  • Experience with jFrog Artifactory
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience with MLOps or Machine Learning Frameworks
