About the position

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Deloitte, you will be part of a dynamic team that is redefining the traditional delivery model. You will engage in consulting with clients on the design of AWS environments, managing cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests. Your expertise will be crucial in automating software build, configurations, and deployment processes, working closely with architects, technical leads, software developers, and stakeholders within Agile frameworks. In this position, you will lead the development of scripts to automate everyday operations and monitor multiple DevOps environments tailored to client requirements. You will be responsible for configuring backups and setting up automated AWS patching for both Windows and Linux platforms. Additionally, you will guide development teams in building and deploying microservices-based applications in the public cloud, utilizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and processes. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the team. Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients on the system design of AWS environments
  • Manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests on client cloud environments
  • Collaborate with architects, technical leads, software developers, testers, and stakeholders within Agile processes to automate software build, configurations, and deployment processes
  • Lead, create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts to automate everyday operations
  • Monitor and maintain multiple DevOps environments based on client requirements
  • Configure and set up backups and automated AWS patching for Windows and Linux platforms
  • Lead development teams to build and deploy microservices-based applications in the public cloud using CI/CD tools
  • Optimize programs to work within AWS environment constructs
  • Mentor and guide junior level resources on the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience with implementation, migrations, and upgrades in the AWS Cloud environment
  • 6+ years' experience with continuous integration tools (Bamboo, Jenkins), WebLogic, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, Istio, API Gateway, and GitLab
  • Ability to design and document technical solutions related to continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Proficiency in automating and optimizing processes
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude
  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Exposure to certificate management for issuing, renewing, and deploying certificates to endpoints
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure
  • Experience in Windows Active Directory design and implementation across AWS cloud environments
  • Automation scripting experience with Java, JavaScript, VBScript, Ansible, Perl, Bash, Shell, Python
  • Experience in AWS storage encryption, data at rest, and data in transit
  • Experience with open-sourced web services environments (Java, REST, and SOAP)
  • Strong understanding of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ability to co-locate in designated Delivery location up to 30% of the time based on business needs, including a maximum of 10% overnight client/project travel
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance (DoD) or Public Trust (DHS)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
