About the position

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be a key member of a 24/7 support team for web and mobile applications. This role involves designing and building infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms, managing cloud-based infrastructure, and collaborating closely with development teams to ensure operational readiness and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure environments.
  • Managing cloud-based infrastructure and providing off-hours support as needed.
  • Using infrastructure management tools like Terraform for provisioning.
  • Troubleshooting the full web and mobile stack.
  • Managing MySQL or NoSQL databases under high traffic conditions.
  • Utilizing monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
  • Troubleshooting production issues and escalating as necessary.
  • Performance tuning for hosting environments and application components.
  • Creating design and training documentation for automation projects.
  • Collaborating with software development teams to enhance operational deployment readiness.
  • Writing scripts to automate operations, server management, and auto-scaling.
  • Ensuring code and server security aspects are maintained.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in building and maintaining applications for large-scale consumer websites running on Linux using Nginx, MongoDB, node.js, PHP, and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with RedHat/CentOS Linux.
  • Strong scripting experience in Python and Shell.
  • Experience managing MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Experience in building Terraform stacks.
  • Familiarity with GIT, Jenkins, and SonarQube for source control, deployments, and continuous integration.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Autoscaling, ALB, CloudFront, ECS, and Route 53.
  • Ability to work proactively in a pressured and growing environment.
  • Ability to think creatively and manage multiple tasks with dynamic priorities.
  • Familiarity with the ELK stack or similar logging clusters.
  • Demonstrated urgency in solving mission-critical issues.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification is a big plus.
