About the position

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer at eSimplicity is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions, primarily within AWS. This role focuses on ensuring the security and efficiency of cloud infrastructure, managing CI/CD pipelines, and automating operational tasks. The engineer will work closely with engineering teams to enhance application growth and improve the overall customer experience while adhering to best practices in cloud security and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions with the engineering team.
• Deploy and debug cloud stacks, educate teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensure cloud infrastructure security.
• Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing in accordance with security policies and best practices.
• Provide implementation and administrative support for AWS Cloud services, including patching, maintenance, and configuration.
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure (IaC) and services using automation techniques for application integration.
• Implement and administer a CI/CD pipeline for all systems and infrastructure, adopting hyper-automation techniques.
• Perform installation and management of open-source monitoring tools.
• Develop scripts to automate and orchestrate operational tasks using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Chef.
• Ensure smooth operation of systems through management, patching, monitoring, and real-time remediation.
• Conduct research and create prototypes of innovative solutions to facilitate application growth.
• Identify weaknesses in tooling and work with development and operations teams to drive architectural changes.
• Support day-to-day operational incident, change, and problem management cases as part of an agile team.
• Develop full production support processes, documentation, and operations plans, including monitoring solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on DevSecOps experience with AWS cloud architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Expert knowledge of Cloud components, including DevSecOps scripts and S3 access management.
• Experience with AWS services, Ansible or Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Jenkins, Git, and security scanning tools.
• Strong data organization skills and familiarity with data retention policies for data pipelines.
• Excellent investigative skills for root cause analysis of AWS Cloud problems.
