About the position

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Leidos, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Cyber TRIDENT Program, which focuses on Cyber Training systems. This position requires you to leverage your extensive experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment throughout the software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for creating, leading, and implementing processes and tools that deliver an automated, CI/CD pipeline-based DevSecOps system. This system will support various environments, including virtual machines, containers, compiled software applications, scripts, and source code in a precompiled state. Your work will involve collaboration across development, security, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure that the DevSecOps tools and processes effectively support the holistic system development, integration, and fielding efforts. In this role, you will also be expected to coach and review the work of lower-level technical staff, ensuring that best practices in DevSecOps are adhered to. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and security of the software development process, making it essential for you to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Responsibilities

  • Support complex software and hardware systems' rapid development, security, testing, validation, and fielding based on established DevSecOps requirements.
  • Create, lead, and implement processes and tools for an automated CI/CD pipeline-based DevSecOps system.
  • Ensure DevSecOps tools and processes support holistic system development, integration, and fielding efforts across teams.
  • Coach and review the work of lower-level technical staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps concepts and best practices.
  • Strong background in software design patterns and programming languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with software development teams and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to support program execution in classified environments.
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Experience with commercial cloud infrastructure deployment environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with automated provisioning and configuration tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS).
  • Experience provisioning and managing resources within IaaS/Cloud infrastructures (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
  • Experience with automated test tools like Katalon, Selenium, Cucumber, or JMeter.
  • Experience owning entire projects or processes within a technical area.
