About the position

As a Cloud Developer Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming clients for the modern age by delivering cloud solutions that ensure mission continuity. This position involves working within the Cloud/Infrastructure team to support various initiatives, including Application Development, Business Intelligence, and Infrastructure Optimization. Your contributions will help design, develop, and maintain automated deployment processes on AWS, ensuring that applications are secure, scalable, and compliant with federal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own the opportunity as a Cloud Developer Advisor and help ensure the mission is never interrupted.
  • Support the ACF Office Chief Information Office with Application Development, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Resource Planning, and Infrastructure Optimization.
  • Implement Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) processes, building, testing, and maintaining infrastructure and tools for software development and release.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated deployment of containers on AWS using AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service.
  • Utilize CI/CD tools and applications including GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, and Flux.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to comply with governance and security requirements.
  • Create, configure, and maintain application-specific GitLab pipelines.
  • Integrate security measures into the CI/CD process to meet federal security standards.
  • Provide ongoing support for AWS-based infrastructure, including EC2 instances and RDS databases.
  • Ensure platform implementation adheres to appropriate design patterns and coding standards.
  • Work with emerging technologies to develop solutions supporting development and migration to AWS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing container solutions on Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an HHS High Risk Public Trust (Tier 4) clearance.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and Cloud Computing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience using Terraform as Infrastructure as Code/automation technology.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, Kubernetes, ELK stack, Splunk, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with other IaC automation technologies like Ansible and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure Capacity Monitoring and Automated Scaling solutions.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
  • Strong hands-on coding skills in one or more mainstream languages like Python or Java.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in RDBMS.
