About the position

As a Senior Developer Advocate at Datadog, you will lead initiatives that support the developer community by fostering collaboration, educating through content creation, and engaging with engineering teams. This role emphasizes enhancing cloud observability and participating in community-focused projects, leveraging both technical expertise and storytelling skills to address real-world challenges in the cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Speak at conferences, meetups, webinars, and partner events to educate developers in cloud.
  • Create content in various formats to build Datadog's reputation in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security.
  • Work closely with Datadog's Cloud Alliances team and industry partners to provide technical content as a trusted advisor.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to create compelling demos and coach on effective communication.
  • Contribute to product improvements through feedback, documentation, or code.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for community-focused events and programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience as a software developer, SRE, or similar role, including experience with AWS services.
  • 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content such as written articles, conference talks, and workshops.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical users of all skill levels, from junior developers to CTOs.
  • Self-driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with open source contributions and community events.
  • Familiarity with cloud observability tools and practices.
