About the position

The Senior Developer - Data at Fort Wayne Metals is responsible for developing advanced and scalable data solutions that align with business needs. This role involves collaborating with data engineers and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration from source systems to data modeling and dashboard creation. The Senior Developer will independently manage projects from concept to deliverable, owning the entire stack of work from data integration to delivering insights through business intelligence platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing and integration pipelines using SQL & Python within Azure.
• Own the entire stack of development by ingesting and modeling data from source systems, storing and cleansing it within the data warehouse, and visualizing and distributing the data through a business intelligence platform.
• Model data to create datasets and dashboards that derive insights for decision makers throughout the organization.
• Partner with other developers and key stakeholders to build innovative solutions to solve business problems.
• Architect large scale data solutions and lead critical projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
• Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and JavaScript (and other common languages/frameworks for data engineering).
• Experience with Azure or other cloud computing platforms.
• Familiarity with Domo or other business intelligence platforms.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and principles.
• Ability to visualize data and tell analytics stories.
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Text Editors, and IDEs.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, APIs, CI/CD, and version control systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts.
