About the position

The ETL Developer/Cloud Engineer at Freddie Mac plays a crucial role in enhancing the housing finance system by leveraging technology to improve accessibility and affordability in homeownership and rental housing. This position involves leading a team of ETL developers, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective solutions to optimize existing processes. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in ETL and cloud technologies, along with strong analytical skills to support the Corporate Data Warehouse and contribute to the development of a Cloud Native Data Warehouse in Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ETL developers and perform root cause analysis to develop effective solutions.
• Identify gaps in existing processes and implement improvements and automation.
• Participate in requirements analysis and design solutions based on system requirements and architecture.
• Prototype, develop, unit test, and deploy applications as needed.
• Enhance department application development and delivery standards, tools, and processes.
• Analyze and make code changes to DataStage ETL, Java, Talend (Cloud), and Unix jobs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DataStage (ETL), shell scripting, and DB2/Oracle SQL skills.
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud Stack in AWS, Talend, Snowflake, and Spark.
• Experience with IICS, Informatica Power Center, and Talend.
• Strong analytical and development skills to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions.
• Good knowledge of database concepts and working knowledge of SQL, DB2, or Sybase database.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in all aspects of system development life cycle methodologies including waterfall and/or agile development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience.
