About the position

The Senior Software Developer at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is responsible for providing technology solutions and integration services in core banking, payments, and money movement. This remote role requires a hands-on approach to software development, technical guidance, and application support, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to navigate complex technical challenges, and a passion for creating maintainable and secure code.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Provide development leadership (Architecture, Design, Development) on Emerging Payments platforms.
• Drive department best practices, guidelines implementation and adhere to standards.
• Create a superlative developer experience down to the last detail.
• Build elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code.
• Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture, capabilities, system priorities, and technology solutions.
• Create and maintain application architecture and related assets.
• Supervise release processes, including some after-hours/weekend work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance.
• Technical leadership experience for medium to large sized enterprise projects.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues.
• Working knowledge on AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, OpenShift.
• Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in Design and Development of distributed systems.
• Development experience with Node, React, Java/J2EE, Restful Webservices.
• Experience building SpringBoot Microservices.
• Experience on public API development and using API Gateway like APiGEE.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Core Payment Technology solutions using products Zelle, Real Time Payments (TCH and/or FedNow, integration) SWIFT integration or similar platforms.
• Banking/Payments Industry knowledge with experience delivering on large modernization/transformative efforts.
