About the position

The Senior Software Developer at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is a remote role focused on providing technology solutions and integration services in core banking, payments, and money movement. The position requires a hands-on approach to software development, technical guidance, and the ability to navigate complex challenges while delivering high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will lead development efforts, ensure adherence to best practices, and contribute to the overall architecture and design of enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, technology insertion, development, testing, and support of software solutions.
  • Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs regarding functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Provide development leadership on Emerging Payments platforms.
  • Drive department best practices and guidelines implementation, adhering to standards.
  • Create elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code.
  • Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture and technology solutions.
  • Identify cost/benefit implications of proposed solutions.
  • Create and maintain application architecture and related assets.
  • Supervise release processes, including some after-hours/weekend work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance, or High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance.
  • Technical leadership experience for medium to large-sized enterprise projects.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Strong proficiency in design and development of distributed systems.
  • Development experience with Node, React, Java/J2EE, and Restful Webservices.
  • Experience building SpringBoot Microservices.
  • Experience with public API development and using API Gateway like APiGEE.
  • Strong proficiency in RDBMS architecture and performance tuning systems like Oracle/MS-SQL/SQL Server and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working on Agile projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Core Payment Technology solutions using products like Zelle and Real Time Payments (TCH and/or FedNow).
  • SWIFT integration or similar platforms.
  • Banking/Payments Industry knowledge with experience delivering on large modernization/transformative efforts.
