About the position

Optavise, a CNO Financial Group company, is seeking a Senior Developer to lead medium to large projects with minimal direction. This role involves driving technological solutions to complex problems, coordinating project workflows, and continuously improving the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process. The Senior Developer will work collaboratively with a team of software developers, analysts, product owners, and testers to ensure application health and deliver business value.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex programming tasks and code reviews.
• Prioritize work with other developers and participate in technical requirement gathering.
• Write functional specifications for medium to large features, including complex APIs and multi-app features.
• Execute unit tests and perform expert analysis code reviews for compliance and coding standards.
• Ensure delivery of work assignments and maintain programming coding standards.
• Mentor and coach other developers and team members.
• Identify key factors between applications and document developer notes for technical specifications.
• Meet or exceed delivery timelines and estimate coding efforts accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, or information systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of programming experience.
• Expertise in database management and data compliance.
• Understanding of MVC architectural patterns and advanced SQL queries.
