About the position

ASSYST is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a client project in Austin, TX. The role involves developing, reviewing, modifying, and enhancing CI/CD principles, as well as installing, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD tools and platforms. The engineer will also be responsible for automating processes, optimizing batch jobs, and providing environment triage support, including on-call support during nights and weekends. This position is remote, available to candidates within the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and optimize Batch Jobs and Operations.
• Analyze current technology and develop plans for improvement and expansion.
• Implement and enhance an advanced CI/CD solution.
• Develop, code, test, build, install, configure, and maintain IT solutions.
• Analyze processes and deployments to propose improvements for streamlined code deployments.
• Use configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fixes.
• Document processes and procedures.
• Support production and non-production related activities and issues.
• Support releases and sprint related activities.
• Provide enterprise-level solutions for existing automation while developing new solutions.
• Develop proposal plans for approval.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience automating full-life cycle of complex enterprise IT environments using IaC, CaC & CI/CD tools.
• 10 years of designing and implementing automation solutions for scalability, repeatability, and recoverability.
• 10 years of proven ability and experience designing and implementing advanced automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible Automation Platform, Github actions, Jenkins, Liquibase.
• 8 years of experience with programming/script languages such as Python, GoLang, Shell, Ruby, bash, Perl.
• 8 years of experience with Containers and Container orchestration Kubernetes platforms such as PODMAN, Docker, EE/OpenShift/Rancher.
• 8 years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• 8 years of experience designing and implementing solutions using AWS Well-architected framework.

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years of development experience using Java, J2EE, Java Spring Boot, EJB, JSP, JSF/Struts.
• 5 years of experience with WebSphere ND, MQ, Oracle, Java, SQL tools (PL/SQL developer, SQL plus), LDAP, Splunk, Dynatrace.
