About the position

The Digital Content Automation Engineer at Apple will play a pivotal role in driving automation across key digital content processes within the Worldwide Channel Strategy & Operations (CSO) organization. This position focuses on enhancing operational efficiencies during product introduction events and developing long-term digital content strategies. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation tools and explore generative AI capabilities to streamline digital content workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, automate, and launch a new digital content regionalization system and a universal taxonomy tool set.
  • Work with large, unstructured digital content data sets to reduce manual publishing efforts.
  • Build automation scripts to help publishing teams publish digital content faster during NPI events.
  • Analyze, propose, build, and scale automation scripting tools to support Apple publishers.
  • Optimize content distribution workflows using automation scripts and machine learning models.
  • Support, track, and ensure implementation and publishing of data/content within time-sensitive workflows.
  • Manage external vendors, technology budgets, negotiations, and QA resources.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop new solutions for digital content distribution.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on DevOps responsibilities for application deployment and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in back-end programming with Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Familiarity deploying applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP).
  • Expertise in monitoring tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, HTTP(S), and REST architecture.
  • Proficiency in driving automation and scalability to processes and tools.
  • Experience managing content meta-data and asset performance across a global digital channel.
  • Deep expertise in building digital content automation workflows and connecting PIM, CMS, and DAM systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid understanding of content localization processes for a global audience.
  • Broad experience defining requirements and integrations tied to various content tools.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce technology platforms (e.g., Shopify).
  • Experience with Unix-based systems and command-line tools.
  • Background working with annotated data and/or leveraging generative AI in products.
  • Prior experience in SDLC project management and analysis.
