About the position

The Senior Digital Media Planner/Buyer role at True Media is designed for individuals with a solid background in digital media planning and buying who are looking to advance their careers. This position is pivotal in the tactical planning, purchasing, execution, and delivery of digital channels and tactics that align with approved media plans. The successful candidate will lead the development of tactical media strategies and budgets tailored for clients, ensuring that all digital media efforts are effectively integrated and executed. In this role, the Senior Digital Media Planner/Buyer will serve as the primary contact for key media vendors, actively seeking innovative solutions to enhance tactical plans and buying strategies. The position requires a deep understanding of the digital media landscape, including social media, programmatic display, video, and publisher direct media. The candidate must stay current with industry trends and possess a proficient understanding of media measurements, applying these insights creatively to meet and exceed client goals. The responsibilities extend to participating in media planning discussions, executing tactical media plans, and collaborating with the Activation Strategy Supervisor and other team members to refine processes. The role also involves negotiating competitive media rates, developing vendor relationships, and serving as a resource for internal training and mentoring. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in media fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze campaign metrics to provide actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in digital media planning and buying discussions for assigned client portfolios.
  • Develop and execute tactical media plans within relevant channels.
  • Collaborate with Activation Strategy Supervisor to integrate solutions into media plans.
  • Issue RFI and RFP efforts with existing and new vendors.
  • Understand measurement strategies and demonstrate their application in tactical media evaluation.
  • Compile data to identify desired tactics for media vehicles, focusing on measurability and efficiency.
  • Negotiate competitive media rates and secure added value for clients.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting with appropriate departments.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, seeking innovative opportunities.
  • Serve as an expert on True Media tools and processes, training and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of professional experience in media planning and/or buying, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of media fundamentals including media math, reach/frequency, and consumer/market research.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team leads regarding tactical strategies and campaign delivery.
  • Proficient in analyzing campaign metrics and providing constructive recommendations.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills to secure competitive media rates for clients.
  • Must pass Google Analytics Individual Qualification and Google Ads certifications within six months of employment.
