About the position

The Senior Director Analyst, Infrastructure & Operations Architect role at Gartner is a pivotal position within the Gartner for I&O Technical Professionals team. This role is designed to provide expert analysis and guidance on modern IT operations, focusing on areas such as DevOps, cloud operations, and site reliability engineering (SRE). The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience to identify, influence, and share best practices across the service lifecycle, both in public cloud environments and on-premises setups. The position offers flexibility in coverage, particularly for candidates with backgrounds in cloud architecture, cloud governance, or platform engineering. In this role, you will be expected to bring at least ten years of hands-on experience in a modern operations role, with a strong emphasis on technical expertise. Candidates should have a minimum of two years in an architect-level position at a mid-sized to large enterprise, or as a manager or director of IT operations or SRE. Alternatively, experience as a technical lead within a cloud managed service provider (MSP) delivery team or in a technical product management role at a cloud provider is also acceptable. The role demands credible technical expertise, the ability to connect technology to business goals, and a deep understanding of the commercial aims of vendors. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, capable of writing comprehensive long-form content and delivering presentations to diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills are essential, enabling the rapid absorption and summarization of information, pattern detection, and agile thinking. Expertise in DevOps principles, SRE practices, cloud-native operations, and cloud-optimized workload migration is crucial. Additionally, familiarity with collaborating on DevSecOps, agile methodologies, and working within digital transformation teams will be advantageous. Gartner is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment and values the diverse backgrounds of its employees. The company offers a hybrid work environment that supports both virtual and in-person collaboration, ensuring that employees can thrive in their roles while contributing to the company's mission of delivering actionable insights to enterprise leaders.
