About the position

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking a Senior Director and College Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial management, administrative services, and personnel support functions. This role involves strategic decision-making and policy implementation aligned with the CVM Strategic Plan, serving as a key advisor to the Dean and liaising with central administration on financial matters. The CFO will lead a team and manage a complex organization with significant financial operations, contributing to the college's mission of enhancing health and wellbeing for animals and people.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial operations and budget for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
• Serve as a principal consultant and advisor to the Dean on financial issues.
• Develop and implement policies and programs aligned with the CVM Strategic Plan.
• Oversee personnel support functions in collaboration with human resources.
• Supervise financial staff and ensure effective financial management across departments.
• Provide financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field with an accounting emphasis.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and business management, including supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide financial information for strategic decision-making.
• Knowledge of complex budget/accounting and business processes.
• Proficiency with Workday and other financial management software.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree or professional accreditation in business or accounting administration.
• Thorough knowledge of budget management and reporting in higher education.
• Experience with WSU business and financial systems.
• Collaborative experience with project management applications.
