As a Senior Director in Compliance & Ethics (C&E) Risk Operations & Data, you will play a pivotal role in leading the digital Compliance and Ethics Strategy for BMS. You will be part of the Risk, Operations, and Intelligence Leadership team, where your expertise will help streamline processes and achieve organizational objectives through the purposeful utilization of compliance data and technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into actionable digital requirements, driving the enablement of digital processes within the C&E ROI function, and managing demand intake for analytics and enhancements. You will oversee fiscal management, ensuring that ROI spending aligns with the budget, and work closely with stakeholders to define requirements while assessing technical and data feasibility. Your leadership will extend to developing and testing analytics, providing troubleshooting support, and curating compliance-related data lakes for the C&E ROI Team. You will also be tasked with ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of data while maintaining ethical considerations in the use of artificial intelligence across BMS. Staying informed about evolving ethical standards in AI will be crucial as you identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency through digital capabilities. Your role will require collaboration across various functions to incorporate "Compliance by Design" principles into technical systems and platforms, ensuring that compliance digital initiatives align with organizational objectives. As a leader, you will build, manage, and develop a diverse team, fostering an environment that encourages growth and development. Your strategic vision will guide the team in achieving broader organizational goals, and you will be recognized as a thought leader within the organization, influencing decisions that impact the function's ability to deliver on its objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Translate C&E ROI business requirements into clear and actionable digital requirements.
  • Drive the enablement of digital processes within the C&E ROI function.
  • Manage demand intake and prioritize inbound requests for analytics, enhancements, maintenance, and troubleshooting based on requirements.
  • Track and oversee ROI spend vs budget including facilitation of budget process.
  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements and assess technical and data feasibility through intake and requirements gathering.
  • Source and manage data, develop and test analytics, and provide troubleshooting and maintenance support.
  • Develop packaged insights, both quantitative and qualitative, leveraging Risk Analytics.
  • Provide stakeholder support for routine Board reporting on compliance program effectiveness.
  • Design, execute, and report on annual, internal, and external effectiveness and maturity reviews for the compliance program.
  • Lead team that facilitates supply of data and access to ROI systems for audit and inspections.
  • Collaborate with Enabling Functions in IT, Business Insights and Analytics, Commercial and other functions to develop a comprehensive compliance digital strategy and roadmap.
  • Curate data and maintain compliance-related data lakes for full C&E ROI Team.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data.
  • Maintain and enforce ethical considerations in the use of artificial intelligence across BMS.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency through digital capabilities.
  • Align compliance digital initiatives with organizational objectives and compliance strategy.
  • Track digital investments to ensure the realization of intended outcomes and provide insights into the impact of digital initiatives.
  • Build, manage, and develop a diverse team with complementary skills.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in healthcare compliance data and platform management, typically gained through at least 10-12 years of technology experience in the pharmaceutical space.
  • Ability to work independently on all deliverables.
  • Experience in direct management of a team including results/outcomes, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Significant input into decisions related to hiring, performance reviews, promotions, and compensation actions.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects including resource and budget allocation and operational leadership.
  • Ability to oversee deliverable product, set vision and standards for work products, and challenge teams.
  • Experience in making resource allocation decisions, setting objectives, and driving decisions about priorities within a large team.
