About the position

The Senior Director, Card Finance, CFO of Mainstreet at Capital One is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis of the Mainstreet Card business. This position plays a crucial role in contributing to the overall profitability of the Card and Capital One P&L, while also focusing on providing access to credit and promoting responsible credit usage among consumers. The individual will lead a team of financial analysts and collaborate with various senior leaders across finance disciplines to drive strategic insights and influence corporate decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Shape and contribute to the FP&A and Finance culture within the team and organization.
• Recruit and develop high-performing talent within the finance team.
• Act as a strategic thought partner and advisor to senior business leaders.
• Generate analytical insights into business performance and the P&L.
• Develop and deliver impactful presentations to senior management.
• Support and influence senior business leaders, including members of the Executive Committee.
• Balance analytics with judgment to influence corporate decision-making.
• Challenge the status quo and create sustainable financial processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 12 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
• At least 6 years of experience managing an FP&A function.
• At least 5 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in or partnering with the Card business.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance.
• 14+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
• 10+ years of experience managing an FP&A function.
• 10+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports.
• Ability to build and manage robust financial models within modern infrastructure.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
