In this role, you will serve as a critical right hand to the CEO, acting as a confidant, advisor, and strategic partner. You will support The Standard's executive leadership team in tracking and monitoring key initiatives across a variety of functions, including operations, business development, and organizational strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage complex projects, and the aptitude to foster strong relationships across the organization. The Chief of Staff will also lead and manage a team of individual contributor Executive Assistants. This role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical skills. Responsibilities include working with the CEO to ensure alignment of priorities, facilitating communications and driving key initiatives to successful completion. You'll contribute to the success of the executive leadership team by organizing strategic planning discussions, and preparing agendas, materials and briefings for executive staff meetings as well as tracking deliverables and action items. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team to align efforts in support of organizational goals. You'll also provide strategic support to CEO decision making, project management of the CEO office, and support coordinating enterprise wide initiatives. You'll serve as a key point of contact between the CEO and both internal and external stakeholders, facilitating an effective flow of information to the CEO, and you'll manage the CEO's calendar. You'll lead the Executive Assistant team supporting CEO direct reports, including goal setting and coaching, and working with the team to identify efficiencies and process improvements. Through your coaching, feedback and development, you'll ensure effective use of the EA team's skills and expertise. This role will be based in Portland, Oregon and will require regular in office days at The Standard's home office location - typically 1 to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a critical right hand to the CEO, acting as a confidant, advisor, and strategic partner.
  • Support the executive leadership team in tracking and monitoring key initiatives across various functions.
  • Work with the CEO to ensure alignment of priorities and facilitate communications.
  • Drive key initiatives to successful completion and contribute to the success of the executive leadership team.
  • Organize strategic planning discussions and prepare agendas, materials, and briefings for executive staff meetings.
  • Track deliverables and action items to ensure accountability and progress.
  • Provide strategic support to CEO decision making and manage project management of the CEO office.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide initiatives and serve as a key point of contact between the CEO and stakeholders.
  • Manage the CEO's calendar and ensure effective flow of information to the CEO.
  • Lead and manage a team of Executive Assistants, including goal setting and coaching.

Requirements

  • Degree in business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in progressively responsible roles, including direct leadership, goal setting, and coaching.
  • Experience leading through influence and building strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in sharing information.
