About the position

The Senior Director of Department Operations at eBay is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategy and efficiency of the department. This position involves maintaining operational excellence, developing a culture of continuous improvement, and managing communications to drive progress. The Senior Director will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and the leadership team to define departmental objectives, monitor performance metrics, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop the department's objectives and define the strategy to achieve those.
• Maintain the department's initiative and project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators for the department and report on progress.
• Utilize data to track and report on operational and performance metrics for decision-making.
• Deliver financial budget and planning, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
• Manage the department's operating rhythms, including meeting agendas and business reviews.
• Provide leadership on managing relationships with third-party vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Draft executive presentations and content for communication to executive audiences.
• Build and leverage strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
• Drive operational excellence and efficiency, setting goals for improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Business Operations & Strategy experience.
• 8+ years of experience with legal project operations and management in-house.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability to drive teams to deliver high performance.
• Experience managing projects or programs independently.
• Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong financial and analytics skills.
• Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership.
