About the position

The Senior Director of Equipment Strategy at the American Red Cross will lead the strategic planning and execution of equipment strategies across all biomedical operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that the equipment strategy aligns with the organization's key performance indicators and operational objectives. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, management of a team, and oversight of equipment needs and solutions to enhance the capabilities of the Biomedical Services organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Biomed enterprise equipment strategy, policies, and programs.
  • Lead equipment strategy to ensure Biomed equipment vision is carried out across all Biomedical operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate Biomedical equipment goals and objectives in partnership with business leads.
  • Drive a plan to enhance program expertise to create capability within the Biomedical Services organization.
  • Lead identification of Biomedical equipment needs or gaps and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Provide leadership guidance and consultation on Biomedical equipment capacity building, planning, needs assessment, etc.
  • Establish metrics, processes and procedures, and oversight management required to ensure optimum strategy delivery and alignment with applicable KPIs.
  • Serve as line-of-business liaison to national operations & HQ partners to support and build the equipment strategy.
  • Support the Product and Process Excellence initiatives and efforts as needed.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to identify and prioritize equipment strategy in alignment with process, execution, and systems needs to ensure programs/projects are managed and executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that programs and business systems roadmap are aligned to strategic initiatives and support the low-cost producer model.
  • Provide regular reports, monthly reviews, and problem-solving to support program goals.
  • Manage a team including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and managing performance.
  • Manage resource allocations and coordinate staff assignments.
  • Provide effective leadership in recognizing, rewarding and motivating staff that leads to high-performance.
  • Accountable for budgetary responsibility for the unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Results driven.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Excellent team-building skills.
  • Ability to engage a remote workforce.
