About the position

The position is a senior leadership role within the Ameriprise Financial Institution Group (AFIG), responsible for managing onboarding, service, support, and operational accountabilities. The role focuses on developing key corporate relationships, leading various teams to ensure effective performance, and delivering exceptional service to financial institution clients. The leader will coordinate efforts across corporate and field stakeholders to achieve strategic priorities and enhance the financial institution value proposition.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding, service, support, and operational accountabilities of AFIG.
  • Develop and align key corporate relationships, including service & operations and conversion.
  • Lead the onboarding, service, support, and risk management teams to ensure effective performance.
  • Deliver an exceptional support/service experience to financial institution clients.
  • Provide direct and influential leadership to key service/operation leaders and sales assistants.
  • Coordinate and integrate corporate and field stakeholders to achieve key priorities.
  • Lead large deal financial institution takeovers from an AFIG work-stream perspective.
  • Develop and maintain strategies, processes, and programs to support onboarding and operational efficiencies.
  • Promote and enforce compliance and legal responsibilities with financial institutions.
  • Design, implement, and monitor operational processes to increase AFIG program revenue and operational efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and monitor national region operational staff structure to align with revenue drivers and key performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage operations across a multiple state territory, requiring 35-50% travel.
  • Strong understanding of broker-dealer business operations.
  • Technical expertise in advisor recruitment, risk mitigation, financial planning, client acquisition, marketing, or business operations.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others without direct positional power.
  • Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to differences among people.
  • Ability to manage change and lead through decision-making and innovation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience leading through others and developing others.
  • Operational and sales support leadership within a financial institution investment program.
  • Current or previous Ameriprise Financial experience.
  • Series 7 State securities agent registration (S63 or S66).
  • State IAR registration (S65 or S66).
