About the position

The Sr Director of Franchise Marketing is a pivotal leadership role within the EA SPORTS Publishing Organization, responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy for the American Football portfolio, which includes Madden NFL and College Football. This position requires a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach, as the Sr Director will work closely with various teams across the Experience and Studio organization, including Franchise Strategy, Product Development, Commercial, Creative, Production, Communications, and Growth Marketing. The primary focus is to define the strategic framework for marketing campaigns, establish investment profiles, and ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned with sustainable player engagement and revenue growth. In this role, you will be accountable for developing integrated go-to-market principles that align with annual and multi-year business objectives. This includes enabling integrated marketing planning, inspiring creative breakthroughs, and enhancing player experiences connected to the brand. You will also be responsible for defining marketing budgets in partnership with Finance and cross-functional marketing leads, ensuring that these budgets are strategically aligned with opportunities that drive impactful marketing outcomes. The Sr Director will lead campaign planning and signature marketing initiatives, ensuring that all marketing functions are prioritized and resources are allocated effectively. Establishing marketing KPIs will be crucial to measure the success of campaigns and their alignment with business objectives. Additionally, you will drive creative briefings to ensure that consumer-facing marketing resonates with target audiences and strategic imperatives. As a leader, you will develop a high-performing team of strategic marketers, fostering an environment of innovation and effectiveness. You will connect with licensors, partners, and agencies to achieve high-quality results that align with marketing objectives. Furthermore, you will evolve marketing excellence by adapting processes, tools, and technology to meet the future needs of EA SPORTS marketing and player experiences. Your leadership will inspire confidence among cross-functional teams and EA SPORTS executives, ensuring that the marketing approach is impactful and aligned with business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Establish integrated go-to-market principles and strategies that align with annual and multi-year business objectives for Madden NFL and College Football.
  • Define marketing budgets in partnership with Finance and cross-functional marketing leads to enable effective go-to-market plans.
  • Lead campaign planning and signature marketing initiatives with cross-functional marketing partners, ensuring alignment with key strategies.
  • Establish marketing KPIs to measure campaign performance and accountability to business objectives.
  • Drive creative briefing to ensure consumer-facing marketing connects to strategic imperatives and target audience motivations.
  • Provide Go-To-Market governance for all marketing functions to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
  • Develop a high-performing team of strategic marketers to spearhead go-to-market planning connected to business and product briefs.
  • Connect licensors, partners, and agencies to achieve high-quality results aligned with marketing objectives.
  • Evolve marketing excellence, processes, tools, and technology to lead teams toward the future of EA SPORTS marketing.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams and EA SPORTS executives to build confidence in marketing approaches and impact.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in brand and product marketing, focusing on global audience growth, retention, and engagement.
  • Deep sport, product, and consumer expertise connected to American Football brands.
  • Strategic marketing expertise in a global B2C capacity.
  • Ability to galvanize, collaborate, and manage stakeholders, licenses, and external partners.
  • Team leadership experience with direct and indirect experts.
  • Experience driving business and team transformation.
  • Ability to manage multi-million dollar marketing budgets to drive outcomes.
  • Experience bringing multi-channel content and creative campaigns to market.
  • Passion for sports, specifically motorsports preferred.
