About the position

The Senior Director of Global Merchandising for Men's Close to Body at Calvin Klein is a pivotal role that leads the product merchandising strategy for the global Calvin Klein Underwear Men's community. This position is responsible for the development of comprehensive global merchandising dashboards and the consolidation of global information to support and build effective strategies for the category. The Senior Director will utilize strong collaboration and influencing skills to act as the primary liaison between the global design team and regional teams, ensuring that product offerings align with specific merchandising objectives, revenue targets, and overall business goals. In this role, the Senior Director will support the VP of Merchandising in establishing the product vision and global merchandising guidelines for all Calvin Klein Men's Underwear lines. This includes working closely with regional merchandise managers to develop and translate regional needs into actionable strategies while analyzing seasonal business performance to identify opportunities for improving product assortments and margins. The position also involves leading technical and merchandising teams, recognizing staff strengths, and providing guidance for development, while also addressing performance issues as necessary. The Senior Director will partner with the VP of Design on both long-term and short-term product and strategic initiatives, ensuring that the customer and market perspectives are integrated into the design process. This role requires a deep understanding of the brand's target customer, staying informed about lifestyle trends, and leveraging this knowledge to drive product development and merchandising strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product merchandising for the global Calvin Klein Underwear Men's community.
  • Develop global merchandising dashboards and consolidate global information to support category strategies.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the global design team and regional teams.
  • Support the VP Merchandising in establishing product vision and global merchandising guidelines.
  • Collaborate with regional merchandise managers to translate regional needs into actionable strategies.
  • Analyze seasonal business performance to identify opportunities for improving assortments and margins.
  • Lead technical and merchandising teams, recognizing staff strengths and addressing performance issues.
  • Partner with the VP Design on product and strategic initiatives, both long and short term.

Requirements

  • 8-11 years of product development/merchandising experience, preferably in Retail & Intimate Apparel.
  • Proven track record managing a team of 2 or more people in differing functions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • High level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction, including bras.
  • Proven understanding of garment costs and gross margin formulas.
