About the position

The Senior Director, Group Distribution Strategy is responsible for leading the distribution strategy for the groups and meetings channel at Marriott. This role involves developing and refining the strategy, managing key initiatives, and advocating for the strategy across the organization. The Senior Director also formulates a product vision, sets the strategy and roadmap, and oversees the performance of Marriott's direct channel products and Group Housing Solutions. Additionally, the role includes managing primary group channel accounts and providing comprehensive account management services.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and executes the distribution strategy for the groups & meetings channel.
  • Formulates a product vision and manages the performance of Marriott's direct channel Shop Book products and Group Housing Solutions.
  • Manages primary Group channel accounts, providing full suite account management services.
  • Establishes and enforces global group channel standards.
  • Leads negotiation preparation for group intermediary agreements.
  • Communicates the group distribution strategy to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Participates in forums discussing group distribution trends.
  • Orchestrates efforts to develop new solutions to drive customer demand.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on group intermediation dynamics and trends.
  • Assesses new third-party businesses, products, and services to support strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8 years of work experience, with at least 5 years in strategy development and distribution issues in the group & meetings segment.
  • Solid project management, organizational, and process skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of strategy formulation and delivery in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in planning and preparing teams for complex partner negotiations.
