About the position

The Senior Director of HPM Technical Operations is responsible for overseeing the Technical Operations Department, developing long-range plans for all media platforms, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This role involves supervising engineering and digital operations personnel, managing the departmental budget, and ensuring the technical performance of the station meets industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall activities of the Technical Operations Department.
• Develop long-range plans for all media platforms.
• Supervise the use of all engineering and digital operations personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements.
• Oversee the performance of station equipment to meet FCC and Public Broadcasting Service standards.
• Prepare training materials and procedures for technical personnel.
• Develop and monitor the departmental budget to ensure expenditures are within allocated amounts.
• Maintain station technical plant designs to meet technical needs.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
• Technical certification or licensing directly related to the job.
