About the position

The Senior Director, Internal Sales Operations & Planning position at Herr Foods Inc. is a pivotal role that drives strategic sales analysis and execution to achieve both financial and non-financial goals among Sales teams. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams to collect, assess, and present sales analytics and sales plans. The incumbent will also engage with external customers to build relationships and foster business development. The role is based in Nottingham, PA, and involves a schedule of Monday to Friday, approximately 40+ hours a week, with mostly on-site work and some hybrid possibilities. In this role, the Senior Director will lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to develop integrated sales and operation plans. The position supports compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices related to sales and customer interactions. The incumbent will actively participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights and align reporting efforts with strategic goals. Additionally, the Senior Director will oversee Sales and Operations Planning, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts and operational capabilities, and provide strategic recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities and grow market share. The role also involves leading the senior sales team in developing annual budgets, sales goals, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Continuous improvement is a key focus, driving accountability and prioritization to ensure the team is focused on high-impact areas that yield valuable business performance. The Senior Director will engage with internal and external groups to build relationships with key customer contacts, operators, and distributors, delivering clear and proactive communication to customers. Furthermore, the position includes supervising the Demand Planning & Forecasting Team, identifying development opportunities for team members, and maintaining oversight of team performance against critical KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to develop integrated sales and operation plans.
  • Support and reinforce compliance with established SOPs and best practices related to sales and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure optimal delivery of customer experience and sales execution.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights and align reporting efforts with strategic goals.
  • Lead Sales and Operations Planning to ensure alignment between sales forecasts and operational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain & Production teams to align production capacity with sales forecasts.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities and grow market share.
  • Cultivate a high-performing sales culture that motivates large teams to exceed business objectives.
  • Lead the senior sales team in developing annual budgets, sales goals, and KPIs.
  • Drive accountability and prioritization to ensure focus on high-impact areas for business performance.
  • Engage with internal and external groups to build relationships with key customer contacts and industry influencers.
  • Deliver clear and proactive communication to customers and represent Herr's brand during customer visits.
  • Identify development opportunities for team members and maintain oversight of team performance against KPIs.
  • Oversee the security and confidentiality of all sales business strategies and metrics.
  • Compile and relay detailed sales analytics to senior management and sales teams, highlighting KPIs.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs related to sales, inventory, and operations to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in senior-level sales management, analytics, and sales execution.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced level required.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods and food industry preferred, with an understanding of competitive dynamics in snack product categories.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a diverse array of employees and customers.
  • Experience using a full range of statistical and analytical tools; proficiency in data analysis and sales performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to work toward creative solutions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal/external customers.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and excellent organizational skills.
