About the position

The Senior Director of Change and Release Management at Marriott is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding a global team through a transformative period. This position focuses on modernizing IT Service Management (ITSM) practices by integrating DevOps methodologies, ensuring efficient software and infrastructure changes. The role emphasizes fostering innovation, implementing best practices, and maintaining stringent governance around change and release standards to support Marriott's growth and agility in a complex IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Change and Release Management team through transformation and modernization efforts.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of processes for efficient change flow and release coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and relevant standards for all change and release processes.
  • Act as the process owner for change management, evaluating risks associated with proposed changes and releases.
  • Develop and communicate effective strategies and visions for change and release management to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various teams to drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Manage project priorities and resources to ensure timely completion of initiatives.
  • Conduct audits of change and release processes and implement improvements based on findings.
  • Foster a culture of employee commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall work experience in Information Technology or application development.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting cross-functional application and infrastructure teams with technology change and release needs.
  • 5+ years in a technical discipline role with experience in planning and implementing change and release processes.
  • 4+ years of applications support in a cloud environment and technical infrastructure experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, Asset Management, and Application Portfolio Management.
  • Advanced knowledge of ITSM processes and infrastructure change management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environment.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement processes for assessing program outputs and outcomes.
  • Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
