About the position

The Senior Director of Change and Release Management at Marriott is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding a global team through a transformative period. This position focuses on modernizing IT Service Management (ITSM) practices by integrating DevOps methodologies, ensuring efficient software and infrastructure changes. The role emphasizes fostering innovation, implementing best practices, and maintaining compliance in a complex IT environment, ultimately aligning change and release management strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Change and Release Management team through transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of processes for efficient change flow and release coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and relevant standards for change and release processes.
  • Act as the process owner for change management, evaluating risks associated with changes and releases.
  • Develop and communicate effective strategies for change and release management to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across partnering organizations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to optimize service quality.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology or related fields.
  • 7+ years supporting cross-functional application and infrastructure teams.
  • 5+ years in a technical discipline role focused on change and release processes.
  • 4+ years of applications support in a cloud environment.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and Asset Management.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM processes and change management best practices.
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT outsourcing in a managed services environment.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement processes for assessing program outcomes.
  • Ability to work with global teams across different time zones.
