About the position

The Senior Director of Change and Release Management at Marriott is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding a global team through a transformative period. This position focuses on modernizing IT Service Management (ITSM) practices by integrating DevOps methodologies, ensuring efficient software and infrastructure changes. Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Change and Release Management team through transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of processes for efficient change flow and release coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and relevant standards in change and release processes.
  • Act as the process owner for change management, evaluating risks associated with proposed changes.
  • Develop and communicate effective process vision and strategy to stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in change and release management practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and procedures.
  • Manage project priorities and resources to ensure timely completion of initiatives.
  • Conduct audits of change and release processes and implement improvements as needed.
  • Foster employee commitment to service excellence and facilitate regular communication within the team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology or related fields.
  • 7+ years supporting cross-functional application and infrastructure teams.
  • 5+ years in a technical discipline role focused on change and release processes.
  • 4+ years of applications support in a cloud environment.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and Asset Management.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM processes and change management best practices.
  • Ability to lead and influence continuous improvement initiatives across organizational boundaries.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT outsourcing in a managed services environment.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement processes for assessing program outcomes.
  • Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
