About the position

The Senior Director of Change and Release Management at Marriott is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding a global team through a transformative period in IT. This position focuses on modernizing change and release management practices by integrating DevOps principles and ensuring compliance with IT Service Management (ITSM) standards. The role emphasizes fostering innovation, improving processes, and maintaining governance around change and release standards to support the organization's growth and agility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Change and Release Management team through transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of processes for efficient change flow and release coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and relevant standards for all change and release processes.
  • Act as the process owner for change management, evaluating risks associated with proposed changes.
  • Develop and communicate effective strategies for change and release management to stakeholders.
  • Promote awareness of structured change and release control processes across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in change and release management practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology or application development.
  • 7+ years supporting cross-functional application and infrastructure teams with change and release needs.
  • 5+ years in a technical discipline role with experience in planning and implementing change processes.
  • 4+ years of applications support in a cloud environment and technical infrastructure.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and Asset Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT outsourcing in a managed services environment.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement processes for assessing program outcomes.
  • Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
