About the position

The Sr. Director of Marketing Creative Services is a pivotal role within our in-house creative studio, responsible for leading the development and execution of creative campaigns that align with the company's marketing and business objectives. This position requires a highly talented and collaborative strategic creative leader who can drive the creative vision and oversee projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in leading creative teams, a substantial production background, a keen eye for design, and a proven track record of developing innovative and breakthrough work. This role is primarily on-site in Stamford, with one day of hybrid work each week. In this role, you will manage and inspire a talented in-house creative team, which includes account/project managers, video producers, editors, and copywriters. You will foster a collaborative and innovative work culture that encourages creativity and personal growth. As a creative thought leader, you will keep ahead of trends and provide proactive inspiration and recommendations to the studio team, continually raising the bar for creative excellence and innovation. You will lead the vision and creative concepting in concert with the creative team and internal clients, overseeing the development and execution of multi-channel creative campaigns that align with our brand strategy and achieve business objectives. A strong production background is essential, including experience in commercial production, digital video, social media, radio, out-of-home, and print. You will also be responsible for developing compelling presentations for leadership and ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to creative initiatives through cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, you will have a deep understanding of the company's brand identity to ensure consistent application across creative campaigns. Staying at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies will be crucial, as you will identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate our creative approach. Experience with AI-supported creative is a plus. You will partner with the Marketing Research team to evaluate the effectiveness of creative campaigns and make strategic adjustments to continuously improve creative output. Managing relationships with external creative partners will also be part of your responsibilities, optimizing external resources to gain efficiencies while elevating creative output.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and inspire the in-house creative team, including account/project management, video producers, editors, and copywriters.

  • Demonstrate creative thought leadership, keeping ahead of trends and providing proactive inspiration and recommendations to the studio team.

  • Develop compelling presentations for leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with peers and internal clientele to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to creative initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent application of the company's brand identity across creative campaigns.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate creative approaches.
  • Partner with the Marketing Research team to evaluate the effectiveness of creative campaigns and make strategic adjustments.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with external creative partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience.
  • 10+ years of experience partnering with creative ad agencies to develop creative that delivers outstanding results.
  • 8+ years of experience in television commercial creative development and production.
  • 8+ years of marketing project management experience.
  • Extensive experience developing direct marketing creative, specifically DRTV & FSI creative, preferably for a subscription-based business.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret data, and evolve creative strategy based on key learnings.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative capabilities that impact and influence employees.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or Film Production.
  • Master's degree in a related area of study preferred.
  • 10 years of creative, production, and ad agency experience.
  • 8 years of project management experience.
  • 8 years of group management experience.
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services.
  • Knowledge of advertising creative and production history and trends.
