About the position

The Senior Director, National Security role at FTI Consulting involves leading complex, global, and high-profile litigation, arbitration, and investigations. The position focuses on developing and delivering comprehensive solutions to address evolving national security threats, particularly in critical industries such as healthcare, financial services, and energy. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in risk and compliance advisory to safeguard sensitive data and intellectual property from adversarial threats.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of comprehensive solutions for national security threats.
  • Conduct and manage in-depth investigative research and analysis on individuals and corporate entities.
  • Perform investigative and national security engagements, summarizing results in written reports for clients.
  • Manage consultants on engagements involving teams of investigative researchers.
  • Develop strategies to expand service offerings and improve service delivery efficiency.
  • Advise clients on compliance with regulatory requirements, including export controls and sanctions.
  • Conduct investigations into national security threats, including insider threats and espionage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver multidisciplinary solutions to client challenges.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and assess geopolitical developments and emerging technologies that may impact national security.
  • Lead modification and enhancement of proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in research or analysis within a corporate investigations firm or government agency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure environments.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing projects effectively.
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven ability to identify red flags and validate sources in open-source information.
  • Familiarity with legal and financial terminology and ability to produce accurate summaries of complex transactions.
  • Capacity to devise creative solutions for challenging research problems.
  • Background in financial analysis and proficiency in preparing spreadsheets.
  • Experience conducting investigative interviews.
