About the position

The Senior Director of Network Infrastructure Engineering is a pivotal role within our prestigious enterprise company, focusing on a broad range of IP networking technologies and strategies across campus, WAN, and data center environments. This position emphasizes a strong commitment to software-defined networking, ensuring that all aspects of the network product suite operate efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of network compliance, risk reduction, and technology modernization programs, driving the development of operating models that align with organizational goals. In this role, the Senior Director will be responsible for delivering on key critical business-as-usual (BAU) initiatives while assessing network capabilities to identify operational and security risks. A proactive approach to ensuring that network technologies are appropriately licensed and supported is essential. The position requires collaboration across various organizational levels to deliver complex technical solutions, with a focus on improving quality, efficiency, and productivity while reducing costs and enhancing control measures. The Senior Director will work closely with the leadership team to attract, recruit, and retain top talent, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and improvement. This includes developing and implementing plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel to support the growth objectives of the network organization. A willingness to tackle new tasks and a mindset that no task is too small or impossible to improve will be crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure network compliance to reduce risk
• Drive technology modernization programs
• Drive operating model development and alignment
• Deliver on key critical BAU initiatives
• Assess network capabilities to ensure operational and security risks are identified with a plan to mitigate
• Ensure network technologies have appropriate licenses and support levels
• Drive product and services roadmap discussion
• Work cross-organizationally to deliver complex technical solutions
• Look for methods to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs and improve control measures
• Work closely to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the team
• Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the network organization
• Demonstrate a willingness to tackle new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
• 12+ years related work experience
• Shown professional experience with operational and organizational management, leadership of teams and enterprise-wide technology strategy
• Possess good interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively with small and large groups of business partners and senior leadership
• Knowledge of technology trends and developments in the areas of Network and Network Security
• Knowledge and experience with formal security and control frameworks such as ISO, NIST, COSO, and ITIL
