About the position

The Senior Director of Marketing at A Noise Within (ANW) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing audience development and marketing strategies for the organization. This position involves crafting a compelling brand identity, engaging diverse audiences, and driving ticket sales for mainstage productions and events. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, leading a team to achieve marketing goals and contribute to the organization's strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Crafts and enforces ANW's institutional brand voice across all patron interactions.
  • Develops key messaging, visuals, and content for ANW projects for communication platforms.
  • Develops and executes strategic marketing plans for subscription and single ticket sales.
  • Oversees Marketing Manager to ensure effective campaign execution.
  • Guides development of marketing and ticketing reports and oversees audience research projects.
  • Develops annual department budgets to support effective campaign plans.
  • Negotiates ad buys with vendors for optimal exposure.
  • Collaborates on ticket pricing and inventory management with the Patron Services Manager.
  • Manages direct mail marketing and oversees marketing contractors.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key journalists for media relations.
  • Oversees development of press releases and ensures adherence to brand voice.
  • Develops equity, diversity, and inclusion standards for marketing communications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of senior level marketing experience, focusing on branding and data-driven strategy.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience, leading a team of 3 or more.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience at a cultural organization (performing arts, museum, or visitor attraction).
  • Ability to inspire diverse teams toward shared objectives.
  • Superior creative vision and ability to direct teammates effectively.
  • Strategically minded with the ability to leverage data for marketing plans.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with CRM databases such as Spektrix or equivalent.
