About the position

The Senior Director of Operations at PDC Machines is responsible for driving world-class manufacturing performance through operational excellence and lean methodologies. This role involves overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, including supply chain, quality, production, and manufacturing engineering, to ensure alignment with business goals and maximize productivity. The position requires strategic leadership to implement operational strategies, maintain quality control, and foster a positive company culture while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, cost management, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that improve operational efficiency and increase profitability.
• Ensure that the company's operations are aligned with key performance metrics (KPIs), including safety, quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization, leveraging lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to support product development and innovation to meet changing market demands and customer needs.
• Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain and improve product quality standards.
• Implement systems and practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations.
• Develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the management team and key stakeholders.
• Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
• Foster a positive, performance-driven company culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to meet their goals.
• Develop appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
• Direct and coordinate supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs.
• Manage inventory to optimize cash flow while ensuring adequate quantities to support execution.
• Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.
• Work closely with engineering and sales teams to address customer feedback and ensure that production meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Successful creation and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Proven track record in improving quality and operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems.
• Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• High Mix low volume experience preferred.
