About the position
Salesforce is seeking a Senior Director to join our Data Cloud Unstructured product team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategy for integrating unstructured data into our Data Cloud. This involves leading the development of data ingestion capabilities for unstructured data, which is essential for driving data gravity within Salesforce Data Cloud. Your efforts will enable downstream scenarios such as data harmonization, AI-driven insights, and activation into both first-party and third-party ecosystems, ultimately benefiting Salesforce Clouds and our customers at large. You will be at the forefront of driving the vision and strategy to expand our connectivity ecosystem, positioning it as the industry-leading enterprise data platform. As a Senior Director, you will develop a comprehensive and forward-thinking strategy for Data Cloud unstructured capabilities, including the necessary frameworks and connectors. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that platform requirements and dependencies are met. You will also be responsible for delivering resources that support adoption through various channels, including training, blogs, open-source initiatives, and internal proof of concepts. Engaging with customers, field teams, and customer success teams will be crucial to driving customer-first experiences. You will gather customer feedback and research validation to inform our product roadmap, ensuring clarity and alignment with customer needs. Balancing the product vision and roadmap with feedback from partners and customers, as well as conducting competitive analysis, will be essential in prioritizing initiatives across a diverse set of inputs. Being data-driven is a must; you will need to establish metrics and KPIs to track adoption and growth. Your capabilities will need to align with the company's and product group's business strategy and priorities, ensuring that we deliver impactful solutions that resonate with our customers and drive business success.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive and forward-thinking strategy for Data Cloud unstructured capabilities.
- Own the execution of Data Cloud unstructured capabilities including the framework and connectors.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, cross-functional partners, and partner teams to drive necessary platform requirements and dependencies.
- Deliver resources to support adoption through various channels, including training, blogs, open source, and internal proof of concepts.
- Engage with customers, field, and customer success teams to drive customer-first experiences and gather feedback for the roadmap.
- Balance product vision and roadmap with partner and customer feedback, competitive analysis, and prioritize across diverse inputs.
- Be highly data-driven and establish metrics and KPIs for adoption and growth.
- Deliver capabilities aligned with the company's and product group's business strategy and priorities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Engineering or Product Management experience building and delivering core product/platform features.
- Expertise in leading highly technical, multi-workstream product launches; experience with distributed systems or data-intensive/infrastructure products is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proven track record to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to complete a plan.
- Willingness to engage deeply with engineering, solution engineers, and customers is a must.
- Experience building and working with product technology in areas such as data connectivity, data integration, DMP, Data Warehouse, and understanding of cloud services.
- Experience speaking publicly to executive leadership, participating in the sales cycle, and handling sensitive customer escalations.
- Prior experience in building & delivering a product in a matrixed organization.
- MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent experience in technical leadership roles; MBA preferred.
