About the position

The position is responsible for developing, leading, and executing Quality Assurance and Food/Feed Safety Programs across multiple companies under the LGI umbrella. The role focuses on ensuring that all products meet regulatory, company, and customer specifications while balancing business needs and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the execution of Quality Assurance and Food/Feed Safety Programs.
  • Explore new opportunities for growth with new products and markets.
  • Adopt Quality Assurance and Food/Feed Safety procedures to align with business practices.
  • Expand markets by building relationships with regulatory agencies and business associations.
  • Lead efforts to advance a culture of quality and compliance across supported companies.
  • Oversee internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Manage supplier qualification programs and product release programs.
  • Ensure finished product quality and consistency.
  • Foster employee development and cross-functional training.
  • Monitor scientific and regulatory literature for business opportunities and threats.
  • Lead product withdrawal and crisis management efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum four-year degree in a science discipline, business management, or quality science.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in business management with a focus on quality, regulatory, and/or science.
  • High level relationship and communication skills for interactions with management and customers.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and microbiology testing methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes and quality assurance integration.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and feed regulations and compliance methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in international market expansion.
  • Familiarity with FDA, USDA - FSIS, and USDA - APHIS regulations.
  • Experience in crisis management and disaster preparedness.
