About the position

The Senior Director of Total Rewards is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive total rewards strategies that attract and retain talent while ensuring fiscal responsibility. This role involves managing team member benefits, compensation analysis, payroll operations, compliance, vendor relationships, and communication strategies to enhance team member satisfaction and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with the organization's goals.
  • Oversee the administration of all team member benefits programs, including health and wellness plans, retirement plans, and life insurance.
  • Manage the compensation philosophy and oversee annual merit and bonus processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding benefits programs.
  • Manage relationships with benefits vendors and negotiate contracts.
  • Develop communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits.
  • Utilize data to evaluate the effectiveness of benefits programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare and manage the benefits budget to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Guide and mentor the Total Rewards team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in benefits administration, compensation, or total rewards in both union and non-union settings.
  • Deep understanding of benefits regulations and market trends across the US and Canada.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
