About the position

The Senior Director, Organics Business Development will oversee the organic food and beverage sector within a leading waste management company. This strategic role focuses on driving growth through innovative waste management solutions, building supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with organic standards. The position requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution to enhance the company's market position in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organic food and beverage processing division, driving growth and business development.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan, focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities within the food and beverage sector.
  • Foster collaboration and trust within the team, building and maintaining a strong, positive company culture.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and partners, ensuring compliance with organic standards and driving continuous improvement in processes.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events, promoting its mission of sustainable waste management.
  • Work closely with the VP and cross-functional teams to align commercial strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Lead the team in developing a comprehensive understanding of the organic food and beverage sector, including regulatory requirements, customer needs, and innovative waste solutions.
  • Manage fiscal responsibility aligned with key performance metrics, ensuring execution of both new and existing customer growth.
  • Support preparation of monthly commercial growth reports and budget variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture leader to build and support an organics sales team, ensuring their professional development and growth.
  • Partner with organic compliance and sustainable solutions teams to align processes with industry regulations and responsible practices.
  • Lead and participate in special projects aligned with company values, culture, and leadership development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, agriculture, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in organic waste, food and beverage, or sustainability sectors.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, business development, and supplier relationship management.
  • Expertise in organic compliance and regulatory standards in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and lead cross-functional teams.
