As the Global Sustainability Risk and Compliance Leader at Kimberly-Clark, you will spearhead the strategy for our global Environmental and Sustainability risk and compliance requirements, including the regulatory influencing strategy. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring compliance with sustainability legislation, understanding the impact of our sustainability policies and practices on the organization, anticipating future sustainability changes, and identifying opportunities to enhance sustainability practices. A critical function of this role is to manage governance processes, specifically to escalate critical gaps and drive to resolution in a timely manner. In this position, you will proactively manage the dynamic sustainability risk and compliance landscape appropriate to the company's brands, categories, and operations. You will identify, assess, communicate, and manage material sustainability and environmental risks (both internal and external) to protect the environment and the company. Additionally, you will develop and operationalize risk management processes aligned with the Enterprise Risk Management framework. You will lead the development of relevant crisis management and business continuity plans, providing support as necessary when events occur. You will also lead the Sustainability regulatory center of excellence, monitoring, influencing, and communicating emerging regulations while building compliance systems and processes to ensure adherence. This includes operating and deploying compliance/assurance programs and associated controls such as environmental compliance in operations, product sustainability-related regulations, product sustainability claims, ESG reporting, and responsible sourcing and associated policy and regulatory compliance. Furthermore, you will deploy and monitor preventive, detective, and corrective environmental and sustainability controls across the organization to ensure effective functioning or require correction as needed to manage relevant risks to an acceptable level. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will partner with the Health & Safety organization to operate and continuously improve the EHS audit programs and establish/operate controls validation processes where needed. You will work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment, using leadership, influence, and business acumen to evaluate risks and opportunities and propose appropriate courses of action, all while adhering to high ethical standards in the creation and execution of Sustainability strategies and capabilities.
