About the position

As the Senior Director of Technical Program Management in Capital One's Enterprise Data and Machine Learning division, you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance data management and drive innovation. This role involves overseeing complex technical projects, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of data-driven solutions. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and leverage your expertise in program management to drive transformative initiatives that enhance Capital One's data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance data management and drive innovation.
• Oversee complex technical projects and ensure successful delivery of data-driven solutions.
• Align cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Develop and lead the Enterprise Data Storage and Consumption strategy.
• Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of technical programs related to data storage and consumption.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life-cycle.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Build and develop a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs).
• Simplify complex technical concepts for effective decision-making across teams.
• Ensure accountability and results through deep focus on execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs.
• Strong technical background in building scalable platforms or services.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Experience in delivering large and complex programs with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field.
• 9+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
• 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems using cloud computing services, preferably AWS.
• 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
• Experience in building systems within a highly regulated environment.
