About the position

The Senior Director, User Experience at HireVue will lead the User Experience team in driving user-centered design and enhancing product experiences. This role involves developing a scalable design system, improving design processes, and collaborating with product, engineering, and data science teams to deliver solutions that enhance usability and customer satisfaction. The position is a player/coach role with direct reports and focuses on both consumer and enterprise experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the User Experience team in developing user-centered design solutions.
  • Drive the creation of a scalable design system and improve design processes.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to enhance product usability.
  • Deliver user-centered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership on design decisions within the Product & Technology leadership team.
  • Ensure high quality and consistent visual and interactive design across products.
  • Conduct regular status reporting and UX initiative updates.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in user experience design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Cognitive Science, or Fine Arts preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing for SaaS platforms, particularly in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience in building and scaling design systems that ensure consistency across products.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing and A/B testing.
  • Expertise in creating intuitive user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Experience working within agile frameworks and collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with tools for testing and sharing designs, such as Zeplin or Abstract.
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, including color theory and typography.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience designing inclusive experiences.
