About the position

Honeycomb is seeking an experienced E&S Underwriter to play a pivotal role in modernizing risk assessment and underwriting processes within the multi-family property insurance sector. The position focuses on utilizing advanced technology and data analytics to enhance risk selection and improve customer experience while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

• Conduct next-generation risk assessment utilizing mega data and AI.
• Modernize underwriting processes to accurately assess risk and price coverage.
• Quote and release new E&S business based on underwriting algorithms or user requests.
• Analyze and approve policy changes while ensuring compliance with guidelines.
• Maintain familiarity with E&S state insurance regulations and ISO rules.
• Communicate openly with team members and interdivisional partners.
• Monitor E&S portfolio composition through reports and audits.
• Support marketing functions to promote Honeycomb.
• Complete special projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of E&S underwriting/insurance experience, preferably in habitational insurance.
• Strong knowledge of E&S insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.
• Experience with retail agency relationships is preferred.
• Curiosity, hardworking, self-accountable, and a positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Experience in the Midwest insurance market, particularly in Chicago, IL.
