About the position

The Knot is seeking a Senior Lifestyle Editor to join our dynamic Editorial team, a role that will significantly shape the dialogue around relationships and sex across various platforms during the dating, engagement, and marriage journeys. This position reports directly to the Executive Editor and is pivotal in leading our relationships and sex vertical. The Senior Lifestyle Editor will collaborate closely with content strategists, editors, writers, and creatives to identify key storytelling opportunities with a user-first mindset. This role requires a thoughtful approach to packaging content, bringing themes and concepts to life in a way that advances our brand and business objectives. In this exciting position, the Senior Editor will be responsible for ideating, writing, and producing content that encompasses broader thought leadership packages, while also delving into the nuances of relationship and sex content. The role involves managing a team of editors, providing mentorship, and fostering an environment of growth and inclusivity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace a collaborative mentality, and possess a genuine passion for relationship content. Responsibilities

• Shape the relationship and sexual wellness narrative for The Knot and serve as the brand's subject matter expert in that space to fuel audience loyalty and drive affiliate revenue.
• Collaborate across teams to align on content and affiliate strategy, creative ideation, and social promotion in order to achieve KPIs.
• Manage and mentor two direct reports, including providing feedback on pitches, top editing content, seeking opportunities for growth, and ensuring goals are met.
• Pitch, write, and produce longer lead pieces, content packages, and campaigns across digital platforms that ladder up to key business objectives.
• Appear in press and video as the brand's lifestyle expert.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Superb writing and reporting skills, including experience writing for sensitive and high-touch topics.
• Proven track record of thinking strategically in order to make business-first decisions.
• Successful experience leading an affiliate strategy and a deep understanding of SEO best practices.
• A champion of inclusivity and diversity, viewing both as an integral part of editorial content.
• A seasoned professional who can easily work cross-functionally with little oversight—a true leader and team player.
• Experience motivating and leading a team of editors and writers to produce their best work on time with accuracy in order to hit goals.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented with a commitment to hitting deadlines.
• A passion for pushing creative boundaries and keeping your finger on the pulse, as it relates to the relationship, dating, and sexual wellness content space.
• Media trained and intermediate comfortability on camera with necessary prep work and advanced notice.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field.
