About the position

The Senior EHR Business System Analyst plays a critical role in understanding business objectives and problems within healthcare EHR systems. This position involves analyzing user requirements, automating processes, and improving existing systems. The analyst will support the migration of integrated resident information systems to a new SaaS solution, ensuring compatibility and optimal functionality through comprehensive planning, data assessment, and workflow design. The role also includes testing, documentation, stakeholder communication, and post-migration support.

Responsibilities

• Understand business objectives and problems, identifying alternative solutions and performing cost/benefit analysis.
• Analyze user requirements and operational procedures to automate processing or improve existing systems.
• Support the migration of integrated resident information systems to a new SaaS solution, including planning, data assessment, cleansing, and mapping.
• Design and implement workflows that integrate with existing systems for a seamless transition.
• Document all phases of the migration process and engage with stakeholders for requirements gathering.
• Set up validation and auditing processes to maintain data integrity post-migration.
• Perform testing of the migration process, including creating and executing unit test scripts and managing test scenarios.
• Provide regular updates on migration progress to project stakeholders and prepare presentations on system functionality and challenges.
• Facilitate post-migration support, including training end-users and preparing system documentation.

Requirements

• 7 years of experience with database management systems and data migration, particularly in healthcare EHR systems.
• 7 years of experience in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar database scripting.
• 7 years of business analysis experience, including reviewing and evaluating user requirements and operational procedures.
• 7 years of experience documenting business process flows and standardizing process improvements.
• 7 years of experience preparing specifications for data input/output processes.
• 7 years of experience resolving complex data-related issues with analytical skills.
• 7 years of exceptional oral and written communication skills for project documentation and stakeholder engagement.
• 7 years of strong interpersonal abilities to support diverse teams and inspire collaboration.
• 7 years of knowledge of current IT industry trends and market insights.
• 7 years of understanding architectural concepts relevant to information systems and organizational structure.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
• 2 years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and document templates.
• 2 years of familiarity with existing and planned software technology and infrastructure components.
• 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance and data security related to healthcare data.
