About the position

As a Senior Electrical & Automation Engineer at Flowserve, you will play a pivotal role in our Medium High Vacuum (MHV) Product Engineering team, based in North America. This position is designed for a highly engaged individual who will govern the regionally specific electrical and instrumentation properties of MHV systems. You will support and lead various Product Engineering projects and tasks, serving as the primary contact for automation-related topics within the product family in the region. Your contributions will be integral to ensuring Flowserve maintains its position as the global standard in comprehensive flow control solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for leading regional product engineering efforts in alignment with product management and global engineering strategy. You will accountably lead regional certification topics for North America concerning MHV products and support all operational functions related to the product family, including Communication Operations, Order Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Assembly & Test, and Aftermarket services. Additionally, you will lead Design to Order (ETO) projects in collaboration with Research and Development (R&D) teams, developing and testing automation improvements for MHV systems alongside other Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation (EIA) team members. Your responsibilities will also include structuring, establishing, documenting, and improving processes to support the product family on a global level. You will oversee GTEC support for the products and continue to train and develop GTEC resources. Furthermore, you will be involved in the creation of electrical schematics, electrical hardware design and qualification of components as part of product designs, and the development of drafting documents such as service instructions, training materials, and work instructions. You will apply national and international standards and regulations as part of the electrical engineering processes, ensuring compliance and excellence in all engineering outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional product engineering efforts in alignment with product management and global engineering strategy
  • Accountably lead regional certification topics for North America for MHV products
  • Support all operational functions for requests on product family (CommOps, Order Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Assembly & Test, Aftermarket)
  • Lead Design to Order (ETO with R D) projects
  • Develop and test automation improvements for MHV Systems together with other EIA team members in Product Engineering MHV
  • Structure, establish, document and improve processes to support the product family on a global level
  • Oversee GTEC support for the products and continue to train and develop GTEC resources
  • Creation of electrical schematics (specifications, implementation, testing, maintenance)
  • Electrical hardware design and qualification of components as part of product designs
  • Creation of drafting documents (service instruction, training materials, work instructions)
  • Application of national and international standards and regulations as part of the electrical engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar
  • Product knowledge on vacuum pumps, systems and general vacuum physics
  • Proficiency in automation technology, field bus systems and general electrical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics (EPLAN P8)
  • Familiarity with international industry standards for electrical components (ASME, API, NEC)
  • Good experience in ERP system (preferably SAP)
  • Experienced handling of MS-Office
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Good teamwork capabilities and high work passion
